About Angelo Thompson, C. PED

Angelo Thompson is both a graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science as well as Temple University's Pedorthic Program in Philadelphia, PA. He is Board Certified in Pedorthotics by the American Board of Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics. Born in Durban, South Africa Angelo immigrated to Australia at age 12 with his immediate family until 2001 when he was recruited to the United States on a full scholarship to play as a member of UAB’s NCAA Division 1 collegiate soccer team. Previous to this he had played on numerous New South Whales State Representative teams, Australian Youth National teams and National Futsal teams which toured Holland, Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, Brazil, and Germany. In addition he played in the Australian NIB Super Youth League, Australian National Youth League, and Australian National Soccer League with Australia’s leading professional teams Club Marconi and Northern Spirit Football Club. 
Angelo's academic as well as sports backgrounds led him to his interest in human biomechanics especially that of the lower extremity. He is currently involved with training athletes of all sports, ages, genders, and disabilities in sports performance, physiology, kinesiology, and motor and cognitive development.   His outside interests continue to include participation in multiple sports.  His passion is his family life with his daughter Nola and their many animals.
